VMware, a leading innovator in enterprise software, worked with Samsung Knox to integrate Knox E-FOTA into its VMware Workspace ONE digital workspace platform. The collaboration allows IT admins using Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) to manage OS updates alongside enterprise apps and policies.
Now, through the Android Updates page in the console, administrators can navigate to Devices > Lifecycle > Updates and select the Android tab to configure:
- Install method (Including Forced Update)
- Deployment start and end time
- Server Time Zone
- Network Selection (Wi-Fi Only)
“With Knox E-FOTA integrated into the Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) console, administrators can manage and deploy their updates together with their apps and device policies,” VMware wrote in a blog posted to its site.
VMware announced that the latest Workspace ONE integration with Knox E-FOTA is now generally available with Workspace ONE UEM 1903, and more features will be consolidated into future releases.
