New feature: Save time with the common device list

To make device tracking easier for our Knox Service users, we’ve added powerful enhancements to the common device list on the Knox Admin Portal.

Read on to learn more about the time-saving benefits of these powerful features.

What is the common device list?

The common device list consolidates information about your uploaded and approved Samsung devices. It’s a one-stop shop for IT admins to check the status of devices across all Knox services.

Beyond saving time and simplifying IT workflows, this list also gives everyone in your organization peace of mind. By ensuring easy access to device statuses, operational blockers can be spotted proactively and addressed quickly.

How to use the common device list

To get started, ensure you’re signed in to the Knox Admin Portal. To go to the common device list, click Devices in the bottom-left corner of the Knox Admin Portal navigation pane.

The list shows common device information, such as the device IMEI/MEID, model name, and device status for each service. In the tabs above the list, click a service name to jump to information about that service for the devices you’re currently seeing.

Tip: To get to the service device list, navigate to the device menu for each service. Once there, you’ll see a list of links under the ACTIONS drop-down.

You can also sort the list by column and apply filters to one or more columns. You can configure this page to show 25, 50, or 100 devices on each page instead.

For detailed instructions, refer to our common device list documentation.

Quickly search, sort, and filter devices

Administrative tasks such as searching high and low for devices can cost IT admins precious time. Now, IT admins can use an intuitive search bar to find single or multiple devices in the common device list.

To find a single device: Enter a device IMEI or serial number containing a minimum of three characters.

To find multiple devices: Enter a maximum of 100 exact device IMEIs and serial numbers, separated by commas. You can save even more time by uploading a CSV file containing up to 100 device IMEIs or serial numbers you want to find.

If you’d like to narrow down your search further, simply add filters. You can filter by which Knox service the device is enrolled in, or common information such as device status.

For more details about the device search page feature, refer to our documentation.

How to use filters

In the Filters dialog, select the related service information you want to filter by, then click APPLY FILTERS. You can also clear any filters you applied previously by clicking CLEAR FILTERS, then APPLY FILTERS again.

How to sort columns

You can easily narrow down your search results by sorting. Sort the list by column and apply filters to one or more columns.

Save time by customizing your list

Configure the device list

It’s easy to modify the common device list to suit your organization’s specific needs. For example, you can customize the columns to solely display the information you need the most. For example: You may choose to customize columns based on which services you want to view in the list and the specific device information related to each service.

Tip: If you can’t see or select a particular service, ensure you’re registered and that the service is shown on the portal.

Export device information

Easily export device information whenever you need it the most. Whether it’s for a presentation or a last-minute request from your boss; you can export common device information as a CSV by simply clicking “Download as CSV”.

The best part: Prior to exporting you can select the specific columns you need, or, export it all.
